[tri-med] Re: Jennifer Re: feeding tube question from a former list member

It's funny how the "inconveniences" become so natural that to do it any =
way
else becomes inconvenient!

Jennifer Vanderbeek, mom to Elanor, 5 (T18); Arwen, 7; caregiver to Joe, =
26
(cerebral palsy); Eric, 20 (cerebral palsy); and wife to Andrew.

Hannah also has a high pain tolerance. They changed hers in the hospital
(she just happened to be there) and she was asleep when the doc came in =
to
do it. He asked if we wanted to wait a bit and I told him to go ahead =
and do
it. She slept through it all. He said it was the easiest one he had ever
done.

As for meds... We just pause the pump, take the food tube out and give =
the
meds and plug the tube back in the feeding tube. After all this time I'd
probably look at a med port as an inconvenience! :)))))
