Michelle:
Ditto to everyone elses responses . . . every family is different. Each of
these kids is different. Weight out what is availabe at home for respite vs.
other options like this home. Remember, even if she is gone from home, you can
go as often as you want. The good news is Soleah was as much of a handful as
Faren until this year really. Something seemed to click and she is MUCH
better. Age 13 has been the magic age for us . . . seems like she's been going
up him for the past couple of years. So it never hurts to learn what is out
there and even get on waiting lists even if you don't end up using the services.
Love to you all! Nanci

Can I get some honest opinions? A service
co-ordinator was out to the house today to fill a PUNS
form out which helps the state plan for future needs
of those with disabilities. She mentioned that there
is a residential school about and 1 and 1/2 hrs from
me. She said it's a fantastic school. has anyone
ever considered this? It's not that I am really
considering it : )~, but the idea of having a normal
life is very enticing. Also, Faren doesn't like to
really go places so I think she would actually like
that set up and she doesn't have any serious health
conditions for the time being. But the downright
truth is , I just don't know, even with all of FAren's
difficulty, that I could part with her. But at the
same time, just the idea that she might be happy there.....
