My daughter, Ivy had this surgery when she was 5 months old. She was
about 6 pounds at the time. They had discovered her malrotation during
an upper GI for reflux.
The surgery was long, about 5 hours. Her surgeon is one of our areas
best. He tried to do the procedure laproscopicly but since she was so
small, he had to resort to cutting her abdomen. At the time the
incision was almost side to side. The scar has healed beautifully and
now it looks like a roll in her tummy. We have not had the procedure
reverse and have had it checked several times since it was done. All in
all it will make things better, especially since it sounds like sarah
is really having some symptoms of the condition. Ivy was not showing
any of these outward signs, we really just "happened to see it" during
the upper GI. Good luck, I will keep you all in my thoughts.
