Laurie,
I don't think I have ever mentioned it, but Mike's cousin, who is also a
balanced translocation carrier between 9 & 18 like Mike and at least 1 of
his brothers, has a 12 yr. old daughter who has a balanced translocation and
trisomy 9p. Don't quote me, though, I'm exactly sure what the child's
karyotype is. She (the mom) used to participate on the 9 tips list, but got
too busy.

I have to try hard to keep that child away from Morgan at family functions
because she wants to run off with him. She wants to push his chair every
where. Last fall, when her grandpa died, we were at the funeral and
afterwards she wanted to push Morgan outside. I told her she could push him
up and down the sidewalk where we were standing. I turned around for 1 sec.
and they were gone. I looked all around, almost panicking when someone told
me they had gone around the corner. I found them half a block away in the
grass. She had gone off the sidewalk and couldn't get his chair out of the
grass.

Holly -- mom of Morgan 10 yrs. partial t18q and partial monosomy 9p,
unbalanced translocation
