Hannah seems to be doing well on the meds she is on for the UTI. Yesterday I called MY doctor as it seemed that I had developed another one too. (What is it with these things??? This mother / daughter thing has gone a little TOO far.) I talked to the doctor's nurse and of course my doctor was out of the office until Monday and the others were booked solid. She told me to go to their after hours clinic when I got home and tell them I had talked to her and she had sent me. She said they could get me on something and that if I wasn't better by Monday to call her back and she would get me in. We are not the proud (?!?) owners of a riding lawn mower and had to pick that up after work yesterday so it was 8 before I got to the clinic. Yes, I do have a UTI. Duh... The doctor and I talked a bit and I confessed that I tend to let my health slide to deal with Hannah. He asked some questions about her and when I told him that she is Trisomy 14 Mosaic he said something like "Wow. That's pretty rare." Wow... a doctor that is semi-knowledgeable! He put me on a 7-day course of meds (instead of the usual 3-day) and said I should "feel better by tomorrow." Guess what? Less than 12 hours after taking the first pill I FEEL BETTER!!!!!!! And the steroid cream is working wonders on Hannah's granulation tissue. After just two applications it's almost gone!!! Can't wait to show the doctor! And it seems to be making a BIG difference in how SHE feels!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! It will probably make a big difference at therapy too, She will probably be able to tolerate being on her tummy more now. We'll see this afternoon.
