Our daughter was born with full T18 and she is now 15 weeks old. We were
wondering about getting her immunized on what is normal for >kids/babies.
Anyone have any comments on whether we >should/should'nt?
Hi and congrats on your daughters birth! What is her name?
Like all other decisions with our triers many folks have different ideas or
feelings. What is right for one child isn't always so for another.
On immunizations our case is as follows:
Alex was only 4lb and 12 oz when born. The dr wouldn't even consider
beginning immunizations until he reached 10 lbs. The recommended doses are
for larger children.
Alex didn't reach 10 lbs until he was almost 1 year old. At this point he
wasn't quite so fragile either.
The dr only gave ONE shot at a time, not the blitz of multiple immunizations
at one time that is so common today. Also, if they recieve more than one
immunization at a time and react unfavorable then you don't know which one
is the culprit. The dr felt that given Alex's more fragile state then
typical youngsters going through the immunization regime that his system
shouldn't be shocked with multiple immunizations either.
We erred on the side of caution. :0)
