[tri-med] Re: I'm a freak out/Faren is too

Michelle Wilson,

You are definately not alone. Being the perfect chosen parents we are
(hehe) we are still human, and we have limits. And with our trisomy
children i believe those thresholds can take a little longer to cross as
we try very hard to understand and be patient with our children. But
when they are finally crossed it cant be helped to vent our frustration,
because we are human. I know myself i have yelled very similar things at
Hayden. He went through a period of time, it was about 8 months where he
would choose to scream and cry at the same time every day. And it seemed
to be the right after Brian would leave for work and i was left alone
with him. Some days i could handle it but others i really couldnt. What
made it even more frustrating was that Hayden has a trach so you cant
just walk away for periods of time because when children with trachs cry
they need more suctioning. So not only are you trying to hold and calm
the child you have a michine you have to operate at the same time. ( all
those out there who have children with trachs im sure you know what i
mean!!!) So there were days where i was yelling at him ..what is your
problem!! why do you have to do this to me every stinkin day!! Thats
enough!!! and so on..
I would feel like a complete monster..and was always crying and saying
im so sorry Hayden mommy didnt mean that. I totally sympathize with you.
You are not alone!!
