Deb,
I want to say thank you for putting into words what I have always thought
regarding this. All of our problems are relative. Not
better or worse, just different.

You sound like how I feel - embarassed. Its nice for folk to acknowledge what
is going on in my life, to say well done, but I get
embarassed if there is too much carry on..........

Ahhh but Deb there are many people who wouldn't or couldn't be able to do what
you do, or who would choose not to do what you do for
various reasons.........
This is something I often forget until I get a dose of reality that slaps me in
the face. At the moment I am helping a family off
list in a poorer Asian country. I am "talking" through their OT because they
don't have a computer, or english, or resources. Even
basic reflux meds are hard for them to obtain......... But it doesn't have to
be in overseas countries - the same happens here in
our own home towns. The 16 years olds, the single mums, sometimes no matter how
much they may want to they can't...........

Amen to that!!!!!!!!!! We may not have the answers but it is sure nice to
"think things through" with others who understand. I will
ever be grateful to you and Nanci who helped me research and resource the cause
of Alex's problems. For being there when I needed to
cry after he had arrested, the hospitalisations, fights with the
medico's.......... Mind you I am also soooo glad that those days
seemt to be behind us for the most part!!!!!

Mmmmmm so who is going to win the lottery and take us on our list conference to
Hawaii???? Babysitters vital as is the bar in the
pool :-))))) And absolutely no workshops or presentations on anything to do
with Trisomy!!!!!!! Just facials, massages, saunas and
gorgeous guys serving the drinks :-))
The toughest thing about being a housewife is you have no place to stay home
from.
