[tri-med] Re: Help needed

Mitchell has sleep apnea. When he was younger is was worse-but still has an
apnea alarm that goes off about one or two nights a week. His is central
apnea and his dr. is surprised that he still has it at 18 months. Thankfully
(and knocking on wood) he has always just started breathing without any
assistance-sometimes he would need a gentle tap or shake-but never needed to
be bagged at night. He did have HORRIBLE breath holding spells when he was
younger and we are thankful he hasn't had that for a few months--I'm not
sure if I can help-but yes, we do have experience with apnea. Mitchell aslo
has a trach--which is VERY comforting for me because I know that I have an
open airway to work with if he would become apnic to the point of needing
assistance. Have they done a scope or anything to figure out what is causing
obstructive apnea? She can e-mail if she'd like. :)Sounds like a great nurse
and person!
