I'll copy a little more from the book "The Rainbow in your Hands" by Albert
Roy Davis and Walter C. Rawls, Jr, for whatever insights it may bring:

"In our book Magnetism and Its Effects of the Living System, we present in
some detail the positive and negative energies that can be found in and
without the living system.  Negative energy is the control energy that acts
to prevent a breakdown in your system.  Your body generates, supplies and
directs this form of electrical and magnetic energy during your entire
physical life.  Without this energy there would be no life.  For example,
in biological chemistry, oxygen has a natural negative electrical and
magnetic charge.  Oxygen cleans the blood and body fluids among its many
benefits.

"Our work with magnets has shown these natural energies affect the
electrical and magnetic polarization of blood in the living system.  The
Nobel Prize-winner, Dr. Linus Pauling, in the 1930's discovered that blood,
leaving the lungs and traveling throughout the body, slowly turns positive

"Human blood is slightly alkaline (negative in Nature and energy).  It
will remain alkaline (negative) until circulating through the body it
turns slightly acid (positive).  If blood were to remain even a low
percent acid, the person or animal would become very ill.

"Remembering Dr. Pauling's discovery we should consider that the white
blood cells, the white bacilli, are the soldiers that come to the aid
of a damaged part of the body.  They are always in reserve ready to
defend against the invading enemy of bacteria and germs.

>> WHITE BLOOD CELLS NEGATIVE ENERGY
>> RED BLOOD CELLS POSITIVE ENERGY

"These are active energy generations of blood cells, yet note this
interrelation.  The outside surface of each blood cell membrane has a
negative charge while the inside center of each blood cell has a
positive charge of energy.  Interrelating the Laws of body energy to
The Rainbow in Your Hands substantiates the healing power of your hands.

>>LEFT HAND PALM HEALING ENERGY
>> RIGHT HAND PALM STRENGTH ENERGY

"In the use of both hands, place the LEFT hand PALM where pain or
swelling is located.  Place the RIGHT hand PALM on the opposite side of
the body part to increase the flow of strength.  However, the LEFT hand
PALM, or the BACK of the RIGHT hand, is the healing negative energy and,
as such, should be considered foremost in relieving pain and discomfort.
Researching the natural healing art of the laying on of hands in many
cases showed the use of the right palm on the opposite of the problem did
not bring relief."

So, this is very fundamental, the first principle of healing through touch.
Reiki takes this to higher levels of attunement through meditation and
seeking the cooperation of the *Higher Self* of both the practitioner and
the patient.

But in just using these principles, the release of built-up charges that are
causing suffering can be enabled.  With my little Aries daughter who can get
headaches when she is over wound, I will cradle her head with my right palm

on the back and my left palm on the forehead.  In time I will feel the
static
building up against my left palm, just shake it off to the earth as much as
seems to be needed, you will be able to sense if/when balance is restored,
fifteen or twenty minutes.

In any of this it is best to approach with a clear mind, if you are stressed
or anxious yourself, you should meditate first to relax and feel calm,
accepting, open.

In everything you've written it seems that Philina is very much aware of you
and herself... there must be a very deep connection of spiritual energy
between you both.  I have no doubt that your own instincts will know what
Philina needs of you, and vice versa.  Be at peace when you are with her,
let the world slip away from your conscious control and let your souls do
the
talking.
