[tri-med] Re: Hayden

Hi Kelly:

Well, supposedly, we're not here to dole out medical advice
even though most of us parents have "been there, done that".

So, in keeping with that theory of experience. what I would
do in your shoes would be to first assess the "COLOR" of
blood coming from Hayden's drool and trache. If the blood
is darkish in color, this means the blood cells are already
dead and are probably coming from his lung region which
could have been caused by the vomiting. If the blood is
bright red in color, this would probably mean to me that
it's fresh blood coming from the tracheal or mouth region.
That's what my experience tells me.

I would continue to consult with his Pulmonolgist as well
as his Infectious Diseases doctors as to their opinion
on Hayden's condition.

The mottled condition can often times be attributed to
things such as "stress", "changes in temperature", etc.
I don't think you need to worry about it, but continue to
report this finding to his specialists as it's a "sign" of
his condition. Doctors are always looking for signs in
order to make their diagnosis, so the more you report
to them, the better.

You ARE NOT, I REPEAT, ARE NOT FREAKING OUT! Give me a break!
You are totally together and are doing the right thing in asking
questions about how to diagnose and treat Hayden. You get
the GOLD MEDAL award from me, girlfriend!!!

Keep up the good work and we'll be praying for Hayden!
