[tri-med] Hayden



 Hi All,

I have been a bit worried about Hayden for the past couple
of weeks now. About a week or so ago while he was in the
midst of one of his coughing fits, which can be a bit
aggravating with a trach, he threw up, which happens a lot
when he gets going like that, and became mottled all over
his body. When this happened his hands became very cold as
well as his feet and he began to shiver a little. It kinda
spooked me then but after that I just kinda let it go. Well
it happened again today, the whole scene over again. I
don't know what it is!! It scared me and Brian and I even
considered taking Hayden to the hospital, but then it
passed. I felt that maybe he was cold because after he
vomited i had to wash him and change his clothes so we
dressed him fast and put a blanket on him. It seemed to
help but it did take a bit for the shivering to stop. He
fell right to sleep for a bit and woke up again and was
agitated for the afternoon. Am I freaking out for no
reason?
Also I mentioned that he had strep throat last week and
that he had blood coming from his trach and his mouth which
made us take him to the doctor. Well it went away after a
aday or so on the antibiotics so we figured it was gone.
Just a bit ago while he was sleeping he started coughing
and I went to suction him and I noticed that there is a
faint hinit of blood in his drool running from his mouth.
He has lower lobe pnuemonia and strep throat in the past
month which has caused a lot of vomiting. Could the blood
be from esophagus irritation from all the vomiting? I guess
I should take him to the doctor but denial seems like a
much easier option. He was just seeming top do so well and
then wham.. we are dealing with new things. This is getting
os frustrating. Can someone please stop the roller
coaster!! I just need some calm for a while!!
