[tri-med] Re: Has anyone??? Got any tips???


Elanor has had SSI since she was about a month old.  I have to tell you =
we didn't do anything to apply except give info.  We had people at the =
hospital do it all for us.  It was so nice!  But are required to send in =
our income and medical information every year.  This year they made us =
do a whole bunch of questionnaires about when Elanor will be returning =
to work.  Please!!!!  My advice is also to just make sure you give as =
much info as possible, even if it seems redundant, and make sure =
everything is complete on the forms--no blank spaces, etc.  We also =
sometimes have trouble getting our dr's to send SSI medical forms, so we =
call the SSI rep listed on the form to make sure the stuff gets there, =
and if not I call the dr personally.  It is also good to have a good =
rapport with the SSI rep.  You may be dealing with them year after year, =
and they have to work with a lot of difficult people, so they tend to =
get grouchy.  It helps to try to let them know you are trying to help =
them get their job done.  It's sometimes a very infuriating process, so =
be patient, but don't let them push you around.
