Janet,
Our prayers and thoughts are with both Hannahs.
Last time Nejoud was in the hospital (December 20, 2008) they could not find a
vein for the IV. After 10 sticks, they had to do what they call a line (Placed
in the groin area) surgically inserted in the groin area.
Can you send a picture for the Vein Viewer? Thank you for sharing Janet...
Mohammed, father of Nejoud, T18, 3 yrs old.

Subject: [tri-med] Hannah update...
Hannah has had a rough few days. We called her pulmo on Monday because we
were having O2 issues and temps. He wanted up to call the pediatrician
yesterday and have them rule out everything they could. We went to the
pediatrician yesterday afternoon and they checked her blood (all ok) and her
urine (loaded with bacteria) so put her on Omnicef.
Still having O2 issues overnight and this morning so her nurse called the
pulmo again. He gave her a couple things to do and said if she wasn't
getting better in an hour to call back and he would probably send us to the
ER. That is where we ended up this afternoon. They ruled out pneumonia but
did find some psudemonas so they have changed her script to something that
will cover both the UTI and the respiratory issues.
Has anyone ever had a Vein Viewer used on their kiddo? Those things are WAY
cool!!!! They were really having a hard time getting an IV running. Stuck
her about 6-8 times and never did get one running. They tried using the vein
viewer and found veins but never could get an IV in any of them. She has so
much scar tissue. If anyone wants to see a pic of the vein viewer in action
just send me your e-mail off list. Zach took a pic of it on my arm. I was
amazed.
So we are home now. Doc was comfortable sending us home since we have the
nursing.
Those of you so inclined please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Also,
please do the same for one of her buddies in this area. Her name is Hannah
also and she is not doing too well. She had been in the hospital and is now
home because the docs said there really wasn't anything else they could do.
She isn't a trier but she has medical issues. She isn't quite as old as our
Hannah.
