Things are progressing. Her nurse came in just a bit ago and, as it stands
at this moment, we are going home tomorrow!!! All that is left is the
paperwork and the intake interview which, ironically, can't be done until
she is home! We are waiting to find out when the interview will be and then
her nurse will start tomorrow night. YEA!!!!! <happy dance>
Minor sour note on equipment - we're trying to find out where Hannah's
suction catheters will be coming from. The new supplier says that, since the
suction machine came from the old supplier (even though it was a 10 month
rental buy out through the insurance company and has been our's for several
years now) that the catheter's still should come from them. They are saying
that since they don't own the machine anymore and are just doing entral
supplies and aren't doing her O2, that the new company (that is doing the
liquid O2) is the one that will supply them. Personally we don't care... as
long as they are delivered. So her nurse is trying to iron that wrinkle out.
On a good note - the doc has ordered for a stationary suction and a portable
suction. We have the portable so can reject that when they bring it out, but
the stationary will be most welcome! Boy, are we gonna need to figure out
something on getting a room added on!
Hannah's teacher was by with Santa Claus earlier today. Hannah just looked
and looked. I think that she has seen "Santa" so much here she has gotten
used to him so isn't afraid or startled. Hannah was able to give her the lap
throw I made her. It is red crocheted squares with bees on some of the
squares. I had fun making the bees and Miss Bee really loved it.
So Donn will be taking some things home tonight to start cleaning out
Hannah's room to make it easier to get out tomorrow. It's amazing how much
you accumulate over a couple months.
On a more serious note... the PCA was JUST in here and Hannah is still
runnning a fever. She has been a bit over 99 (remember, that's a fever for
her) most of the afternoon but now is over 100. Hopefully that won't impede
any of the discharge plans.
