Can't remember if I posted that we had called the pediatrician on
Wednesday because Hannah wasn't getting better after being on
antibiotics for 2 weeks. They agreed that the next step would be to have
her see the pulmonoligist and got us an appointment for thins morning at
9:15. We got there, were send across the bridge to Children's for
x-rays, and from the looks of the x-rays and the stuff she was coughing
up they decided to admit her to give her more powerful antibiotics via
IV. So we're here. Not sure how long but... At least now I have my
laptop and there is access in the rooms!
Hannah was running a fever of 100.0 when we checked in (normal for her
is 97.6-97.8) and had to be put on O2 about an hour or so. She is
running 94 now on 3 liters. After talking to the dietician we may
increase her hourly rate of feed overnight to try and get some more
calories. She has lost about a pound in the last month. And we might be
calling in the surgeon who changed out her bard tube because it's been
leaking around it a lot and this evening her stomach looked like she had
thrown up but it had come out from AROUND the tube. When it rains... :)
Anyway, Donn brought in some things for me including the air mattress
(helps on their "beds") and it's my night tonight. I've warned her nurse
that I'm not the good parent to have here at night since she doesn't
wake me up. Since we're right across from the nurses station I'll leave
the door open a couple inches when we go to bed so they can here her.
Not sure how this stay is going to work with Donn and I swapping because
I have dental surgery scheduled at another local hospital on Tuesday and
I can't afford to put it off. (Insurance will cover it all except for
the Dr. if we do it before the end of the year. The Dr. will go on the
Dental policy.)
If anyone wants to help me "decorate" her room they can go to
www.etch.com, scroll to the bottom and on the bottom left click send a
card. I try and put her cards on her crib so she has things to look at.
