As you know Alex received GHT (growth hormone therapy) for 3 years (it was
discontinued due to a slow down in growth and his 'growth plates' beginning
to close).
We SAW a jump in skills within a few months of beginning the GHT but that is
NOT why he was placed on it.
Alex was diagnosed (via a bone age study and the clonidine/argenine testing)
to be GHD (growth hormone deficient). The pediatric endocrinologist totally
DENIED that there was any correlation of the developmental jumps to the GHT
even though I'd been told of cases (via Karen) of tri-18's having
experienced the same as well as one other t-14 (anybody who remembers
Marcus, Joanna's son) who also began to eat orally after starting the GHT
(not easily but he did).
