We were giving Matthew glycerin suppositories for a long time and switched
to Miralax powder. The Gasto doctor says it is safe and not absorbed into
the system. It seems to work like a charm and won't interfere with the
natural muscle contraction needed for bowel movements. It is only partially
covered by my insurance and the remainder costs me about $20.00. It only
takes Matthew about 1 1/2 tsp. max per day to do the trick. You'll have to
check with your doctor because it does need to be prescribed. Other
insurances may cover more percentage than mine. Hope this helps, I know it
helped us tremendously!
