Karen & Susan,
Thanks for your help.  I would never have thought about putting an  
anti-acid around the tube.  And yes, there is red skin all around the  
tube.

I answered Fawna with answers that I got from the doctor's office.   
Since I don't have a balloon, and it is not meant to be permanent,  
the staff seems to think all of this is normal.  They said I should  
wash it twice daily with hydrogen peroxide which I did yesterday.   
That seemed to take some of the soreness away.  And I only have it  
covered loosely to not get blood on my clothing.  But the big thing  
that they want me to keep doing is to push the tube further into my  
stomach because they think that the pain is coming from the sutures  
being pulled to tightly.  I'm doing it, but that hurts, too.  I have  
tape marks all over my skin because I'm sensitive to the sticky stuff  
on the tape.  I'm using paper tape, but I've had that problem before.
