The geneticist told us that there were two possible ways the mosaicism
occurred:
1) There was a "full" trisomy line at the time of conception and the body
"corrected" itself resulting in a normal cell line in addition to the
trisomy line.
2) There was no trisomy line at conception and an "accident" occurred
resulting in a trisomy line in addition to the normal cell line.
He said there was no way to determine which scenario was in fact the case.
Either way, the results are the same.
