A few years ago we became interested in GH for Morgan. I know he was
always growing good, but he seemed so small. A ped. endocrinologist
followed him for about a year, he had the testing done (short test, I
believe) and it came back normal. She couldn't justify it for Morgan. And
at the end of a year she said he had grown the same percentage as any other
boy his age would in a year, it's just that he started smaller and he would
have to grow alot to catch up.
Over the last 2 yrs., in particular, Morgan has grown a ton. His physical
therapist thinks possibly some of it has to do with the TES. It is really
only a theory and nothing has been studied or published, but at the
hospital where Morgan receives therapy they have found that many of the
kids getting the TES have had big growth spurts while on it. The idea is
that because it is done while sleeping (as Karen mentioned GH production is
at its highest during sleep) the e-stim is also stimulating more GH. It's
just a theory, but it certainly seems to apply to Morgan.
The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their right names.
