hi there terre! please dont be offended-i dont know if i am doing the right
thing by sending this to your e-mail address. if i am not please let me know. i
dont really understand how to do this list thing. my doctor recommended my case
to a high risk case manager and she e-mailed me these sites. i was sent to
nashville here in tennessee for an amioncentisis by my docter because of my
age-i am 41. first they did an in-depth ultra sound which showed three birth
defects pointing to downs syndrome-18 or 21. we got the results january 17th-it
was 18. the specialist says i will deliver still born or my son will pass in a
week or two-he didnt think i would carry full term but now that i am six months
pregnant and the baby is starting to grow and kick like a football punter i
think i will carry full term! but how in the world do we make it thru all
this?? to love an unborn baby so much and to learn this news was horrendous.
but i told my husband that this baby-our son-deserves our love and respect
andwarmth as long as he is ours-it is not his fault what happened. but one
thing you said was true-we moved here to tennessee from wisconsin because his
family needed him-i left my family because my place is with him-but his family
has just about turned thier backs on us because they dont know how to deal with
this-i feel so alone except for my husband. i dont know how to cope. your
daughter who was diagnosed and is now two-what kind of disabilities does she
have? i was told t-18 was incapatible to life? i hope you dont mind me asking.
please feel free to respond-actually-please respond-i really would like to keep
in contact with you. Thank you so much---Jo
