Dear Jackie,

Welcome to our list. You will get lots of great advice here. Our list Mum
Karen's son Alex has Trisomy 18 mosaic, and is a mine of information. I'm
sure she will chime in when she gets a minute. My reason for being on this
list is our darling grand daughter Tess who has Full Trisomy 18 and is 4.5
years old. Tess is doing very well, in spite of all the dire predictions
that she would not live, etc. She has a happy disposition, loves music,
eats normally, can sit up for long periods, but not get into position
herself yet. She can stand with support, and bobs up and down to music.

Tess has just had her adenoids removed to help her breathing. She wears
CPAP at night time for sleep apnea, we are hoping that removal of the
adenoids will (perhaps) mean we can get rid of CPAP.

Tess has just got her wheelchair. Our son (Ian) brought her down to our
house yesterday to show us. She is very proud of her new chair, and shows
her pleasure by flapping her arms, and smiling.

Well I think that's all I can tell you right now. You will hear lots more
about Tess if you hang about this list, as we are so proud of her and don't
miss an opportunity to chime in about her.
