Jim and I were tested after we received Alex's diagnosis and both of us are
"normal" genetically speaking. Since our tests were normal we are not
carriers, therefore, any other children of ours would not have the inherited
trisomy. Alex's genetic status is a "fluke of nature....an accident" as one
geneticist put it so nicely. not.

Testing of children generally follows BOTH parents being tested and one
being a carrier. Since Taylor's dad is deceased that is not an option for
you. That fact also makes it harder for you to get a clear signal on what to
do I'd think.

Iif you are tested and found "normal" genetically AND any of your other
children have a different father than Taylor there would be no need for
testing of them I would think. Make sense???

Some parents leave the testing of siblings until the siblings are old enough
to make that decision for themselves.

Other parents (known carriers) want their children tested for peace of mind.

If you have the desire for peace of mind that finding out how you are
genetically and/or are planning on having more children than you might want
to have testing.

I'd hold off doing the children until you have your chromosome analysis done
(if you decided to do it).

Some folks chose to have the testing done and others don't. Personal choice.
