Caley has had a few major firsts!! I had my cousins kids, Nora and Finbar
the other day and Caley was home from school with a persistant cold. First
we went to the park, Caley is not a fan of sand and naturally, the park is
all sand. Usually I hold her hand and help her through the park and she
stands with me. Since the other two are little ones 2&3, I had to keep up
with them and had left caley at the gate...she made it all the way over to
me!!!! Then she kept pointing to the horses (swings) and nodding her head.
I' asked her if she wanted to get on she'd say yes, but was resisting me when
I'd try to help. I could tell she really wanted to get on it, but was
afraid. She finally said yes and let me put her on!!! I didnt swing her at
first, just let her get comfy, then I asked her if she wanted a push, she
said YES!! Then at the supermarket, the little ones went on the mechanical
horse and Caley was laughing like crazy...yep...she went on....and laughed
the whole time....then signed for more when it was done (she ended up taking
5 rides in all)!!! We then went to McDonalds and she went in the Ball
pit...by herself (she needed a little push for in and a determined mom for
out) and afetr a bit was rolling around with Nora and Fin, throwing balls and
having a great time. Yesterday, we were driving by McDonalds and she kept
tapping me and pointing at it with her hand on the seat belt buckle as if she
was getting out. we didn't have the time...but today we are going again
after school with the other kids. Think of all the proprioceptive and
vestibular action going on!!!
