1. International Message from Robert Martin, Vice President of Inclusion
International

Mr. Robert Martin is the Vice President of Inclusion International and
national self-advocate adviser with IHC, a New Zealand organisation which
advocates for the rights, inclusion and welfare of people with intellectual
disability.

Mr. Martin has been involved with promoting self-advocacy and its
development at an international level. IHC is helping 18 people with
intellectual disability to attend the Inclusion International World Congress
in Melbourne. Mr Martin will present his experience as a self-advocate
leader and his involvement with providing leadership at an international
level.

Mr. Martin has said:

³I am expecting that groups will have started fundraising for sending as
many people as possible to the Inclusion International Congress in Melbourne
in September this year. The Congress is from 22nd to 26th September, but
people will probably be away for a week for settling in and some sightseeing
afterwards.

I really want to encourage as many people as possible to go it is a great
opportunity for people to share with others from all over the world.²
