I have absolutely no connection or knowledge of this group but didn't see
any harm in forwarding their mail in case any of you are members.........

Dear Health List Owner: (We apologize if you receive multiple copies of
this letter if you are owner of more than one list)

This is not a solicitation e-mail! We need health list owners's help
to solve a problem for our common members.

Medical World Search has been offered free to the public for use since
1996. It is a special intelligent search engine focused on health and
medical domain information. It enjoyed over half a million users world
wide up till year 2000. We know many of our users are members of your
list group. We invite you to login our site and try our search engine
(Please use list_group as userid and member as password to log in
www.mwsearch.com), you will find out why some of your members are our
members.

Due to an unfortunate hardware failure at our ISP site, we have lost
partially some of our user data, names, userid, password, email addresses.
We have now moved to a new IP site.  We could imagine that many our users
(some are your members) are frustrated by not being able to log
in with their old userid and retrieve their archived search record. Yet we
have no way to contact them.  We would appreciate very much, you, as the
list owner, make an announcement to your members that they could use the
above userid and password in the next four weeks to log in to use our
search engine and to communicate with us about thier past userid and saved
files, we would do our best to recover them if possible. We hope to close
this problem in four weeks time. We now have a new registration system
which will produce duplicate files for us and our users.

We took the liberty to draft a short annoncement for you to distribute to
our common members:

"Medical World Search Engine is providing a temperary userid (list) and
password (member) for our list members to log in their web site
at www.mwsearch.com) to use their medical search engine. Previous users
of MWSEarch are urged to communicate with MWSearch if they would like to
recover their previous search record and combine with their new
registration record."
