[tri-med] FYI - Beach Centre

The Beach Center on Families and Disabilities is rebuilding its website to
focus on 12 specific areas of interest to families, professionals and
researchers in the area of disability.  One web site feature will be
dedicated to real life, in the trenches, light bulb, eureka moments where
experiences and circumstances have created an opportunity for everyone to
learn.  I am looking for ahh moment stories to prepare and post on the web
site in the following categories:



  a.. Access to General Curriculum
  b.. Disability Policy
  c.. Health Care
  d.. Family Quality of Life
  e.. Parent to Parent
  f.. Participatory Action Research
  g.. Partnerships
  h.. Person Centered Planning and Friendships
  i.. Positive Behavior Support
  j.. Positive Perception of Disability
  k.. Self-Determination
  l.. Technology Use for People with Intellectual Disabilities


The rebuilding process will take months, but I could use your stories at
your earliest convenience so that we can properly prepare them for posting.
I am really flexible about arranging the story.  If you would like to share
your story with me you may do so by phone, mail, fax or email to the address
below.  I will write or refine the story and return it to you for your
approval and consent to post it before it is placed on the Beach Center web
site.  You also may contact me with your questions or comments.



I am really excited about the Beach Center website.  Your real stories will
be part of a comprehensive, user-friendly information resource on each of
the 12 topic areas.  For example, in the "Self-Determination" category, we
will have sample power of attorney forms, alternatives to guardianship
information, workshop presentations to download, real business plans, PASS
plans, etc.  We invite your participation in this exciting project.
