Has this gotten to the tri med boards? Fwd'd for Cindy Cook...
It is Cindy Cook. I received a call from Jayne tonight. Nicholas had
a bad seizure and was having trouble breathing. His sats were in the 60s
for some time. They took him to the ER and his sats went down to as low as
7. He was intubated and was being transferred (by helicopter I thought
Jayne said) to St. Francis in Peoria (I hope I have that name right). Mark
and Jayne were on the way to meet him. His blood counts were all off also.
White blood cells were very high and they fear he may have aspirated. I
told her to call me when she could once she got to the hospital. That was
several hours ago and I have not heard back from her yet. I just wanted her
friends to know because they need your prayers. Could you please send this
to the on line group. Mark said that prior to all of this Nicholas was fine
all day.

Jayne just called. Nick went into cardiac arrest last night in the ICU.
They did not have to use paddles and were able to get his heart beat back
quickly. They think his meds at the time caused it. He was on a high dose
of Dylantin. They are giving him his Topamax now. He is stable now. They
had to put a central line in his groin area. His lungs sound wet, although
they are getting stuff out. I think that is it...........She sounds
ok-worried obviously, but ok.

I spoke to Jayne twice today. They are going to do an EEG to see what his
brain activity is like. They fear he may have suffered damage. He does
open his eyes to Marks voice at times and will raise his arm in protest of
having his mouth swabbed. They have turned the vent down and he is
breathing small breaths above the vent. Jayne was pretty upset last night
because she and Mark were given the "DNR talk". They are taking things one
step at a time and making decisions as they come. Keep your prayers coming.
