[tri-med] Re: Evidence-based medicine

I discussed this issue with some medical professionals.  Everyone agreed that
this term throughout the medical community is a method of sharing knowledge
improving health care.
My daughter is an RN at MD Anderson Canter Center here in Houston.  She said
that technically everything they do (as a research center) falls under,
"Evidence Based Medicine" which is a good thing--in her hospital's case it's
simply taking all of the information compiled and using it for gains in the
treatment of various cancers and minimizing side-effects from therapies.  It's
just a term used for weighing the risks and benefits of treatments and using
that information to move forward in better treatment. Then as a result, the
evidence is shared in order to provide better care to those facilities who do
not have the broad research capabilities.
