[tri-med] Re: Ever see...

Debbie, I missed some of the earlier threads on this but this

> She had a little more brown strings in her throwup today..

sounds familiar to me....

Natalia has a 16" french foley catheter.... (works best for us, it not
only saves me from having another tube to rinse--and the end is a
handie chew toy in a pinch,)

A couple of things that I recall from our "nightmare days" in the
first year...

When she was having trouble with her motility...and we were feeding
her every few hours. At that time I thing we were feeding 120cc every 2
hours... even though at that poing we took about 20 minutes to feed,
She would actually get so backed up that the bile would overflow back
into the stomach, which would in turn make her sick, which would make
her reflux...If I were to vent her, the stomach juices, no longer
looked like formula or even a slight yellow, it was a pooky green, or
the brownish color of the dark gold foley....(g-tube)

At that point she was on the "soy" formula... She was allergic to it I
guess,,, She use to have stringy brown lines in her stomach juices
too...as well as mucus and dark strings in her stools...The funny thing
is they insisted we stay on the soy with all her problems, yet when we
finally switched Docs and formula, she was better in a week.

At one point, she had Esophagitis, Duodenitis and Colitis...poor
little thing was so miserable...It was all due to the formula...Are you
getting some of this brown stuff in her stools?

Anyhow, for Natalia the biggest issue was the large feeds...so we just
feed hourly now and all is very good...I just feed her during the day,
7am- 10pm or so...I may miss an hour here or there but it all works
out...

Recently I have been talking to some moms who have tried the Dr. Sear's
homemade formula..with goats milk...anyone tried that?
