Finally!
The Parent Support Org we have been talking about has been named!
We are in the process of registering this 501c3 non-profit organization and
have named it Emmanuel's Foundation and we need your help.
Emmanuel's Foundation is a Christian based (soon to be 501c3 non-profit)
organization providing parental support, advocacy coaching / mentoring and
friendship to parents of all faiths who are in a pregnancy or have a child
with a rare or difficult medical diagnosis.
Our mission is to build stronger communities striving together to support
families through critical issues, companion parents in their emotional
journey and encourage parents to be their child's best advocate. Our support
should help to alleviate the isolation of anyone affected by a negative
diagnosis, syndrome or disorder and to raise public awareness within local
communities.
One branch of this foundation provides an online Forum for supporting
Parents (in a pregnancy or with a child that has been diagnosed with a
rare/negative or difficult medical diagnosis). We (will) call ourselves the
Cornerstone Community and we offer fellowship in faith.
We will offer a host of services including some that are outlined on our
initial web site (on the 'contact us' page at
http://gregoryarritola.tripod.com/janinaarritola.html ). We hope to have
Emmanuel's Foundation officially set up and working by Feb 2007. But that
of course depends on us receiving the funding to complete our initial
implementation strategy.
Emmanuel's Foundation needs your help with funding to support our start up
costs, (which includes our web site registration, creation and maintenance)
and additional out of pocket expenses to get this off the ground.
I ask you consider supporting Emmanuel's Foundation as a volunteer,
affiliate, sponsor or financial contributor. Those needing support
services, can register at Anthony's initial website at
http://gregoryarritola.tripod.com until we get our official foundation web
site up and running. Contributors can e-mail me at
JaninaArritola@xxxxxxxxxxxx with Emmanuel's Foundation in the Subject
Header.
We ask for your prayerful support in helping us to reach other families who
have lost hope and joy, stolen by receiving a difficult diagnosis for their
child. During this Christmas season, as we think of the infant Jesus,
ponder the words from Isaiah 53 (shown below) and think of all the parents
who are encouraged to terminate pregnancy based on a rare or difficult
medical diagnosis. Think of these children who were given a chance to be
born and help their parents to support something bigger than their parents'
dearest desires.
I was one of those parents; Anthony Emmanuel Arritola is one of those
children. You reached out your hand to me at one time; you passed my
requests along to others for help; will you help to support many more?
Bless you for your consideration,
Janina Arritola

Matthew 1:19-25
Now this is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about. When his mother Mary
was betrothed to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found with
child through the holy Spirit. Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous
man, yet unwilling to expose her to shame, decided to divorce her quietly.
Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him
in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary
your wife into your home. For it is through the holy Spirit that this child
has been conceived in her. She will bear a son and you are to name him
Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
"Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name
him Emmanuel," which means "God is with us."
When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and
took his wife into his home. He had no relations with her until she bore a
son, and he named him Jesus.
Isaiah 53
Who would believe what we have heard? To whom has the arm of the LORD been
revealed?
He grew up like a sapling before him, like a shoot from the parched earth;
There was in him no stately bearing to make us look at him, nor appearance
that would attract us to him. He was spurned and avoided by men, a man of
suffering, accustomed to infirmity, One of those from whom men hide their
faces, spurned, and we held him in no esteem.
Yet it was our infirmities that he bore, our sufferings that he endured,
While we thought of him as stricken, as one smitten by God and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our offenses, crushed for our sins, Upon him was the
chastisement that makes us whole, by his stripes we were healed.
We had all gone astray like sheep, each following his own way; But the LORD
laid upon him the guilt of us all.
Though he was harshly treated, he submitted and opened not his mouth; Like a
lamb led to the slaughter or a sheep before the shearers, he was silent and
opened not his mouth.
Oppressed and condemned, he was taken away, and who would have thought any
more of his destiny?
When he was cut off from the land of the living, and smitten for the sin of
his people, A grave was assigned him among the wicked and a burial place
with evildoers, Though he had done no wrong nor spoken any falsehood. (But
the LORD was pleased to crush him in infirmity.) If he gives his life as an
offering for sin, he shall see his descendants in a long life, and the will
of the LORD shall be accomplished through him. Because of his affliction he
shall see the light in fullness of days; Through his suffering, my servant
shall justify many, and their guilt he shall bear. Therefore I will give
him his portion among the great, and he shall divide the spoils with the
mighty, Because he surrendered himself to death and was counted among the
wicked; And he shall take away the sins of many, and win pardon for their
offenses.
