I think that 'groups' that operate out in the real world (haha!) are a
somewhat different beast than the 'discussion' groups on the Internet.
For instance, The Christian Children's Fund.............the help feed/clothe
children in desperate poverty. I'm glad that someone/some group is doing
that! I supported them in the past even though they're not 'my religion'.
Groups: adoption agencies, social workers, religious leaders.......are there
to 'work' and support those seeking their services. The canopy under which
they are associated with tends to have a board, a specific reason for being
and rules/regulations.
But discussion/support groups.........it's just a different thing.......to
me anyhow. Often they're run by John Q. Public and tend to be less rule
oriented and more opinion oriented. He/She who owns the list/group rules the
list/group.
I'm having a hard time figuring out how to explain it.
The most 'religious' people I've ever known in my 45 yrs are the ones who
don't boast their beliefs with every breath or line of writing. They don't
feel the need to try and convince others of their Godliness.
They are the ones who follow the belief of their convictions in their
actions and daily life. They are the ones who give and do for others quietly
and without fan fair.
They are the ones who are extraordinarily kind, giving, compassionate and
all around good folks.
Those who feel the need to frequently and loudly proclaim their Godliness
make me VERY leery..they tend to be the kind of person you need to be
careful of.
They doth proclaim too much.......to borrow a phrase. :0)
I do love these discussions with some meat on them!!!! lol
