[tri-med] Re: Elanor update--pain?

I thought of both, but one of our nurses said she can usually smell a UTI
(as weird as that sounds), and she doesn't seem to have any problems
urinating (AT ALL!). As for a kidney stone, who knows? She does seem to be
feeling better right now. She seems to be most uncomfortable/in pain when
she is getting her feedings. That leads us to believe it is stomach
related, and since she has a fundo, she can't vomit, so it has to all go
down. Her bowels are working, and with the miralax and antibiotic, she will
probably have diarrhea in the near future, knowing her. Maybe she just has
a stomach bug and we just have to wait it out. Hopefully the antibiotic
will help, and if she does start getting diarrhea, I will get her some
lactobacillus to help w/ that. At least she isn't crying any more. She is
usually so happy that it is hard on all of us when she cries. :(

Hi Jennifer :o)
What about a UTI possibly???? Up until a few years ago, I got very fast
onset bladder and urinary track infections. I could always tell when they
were coming on because I would get pressure in my abdomen and felt the need
to go to the bathroom only when I went I could only go a few drops if lucky.
I immediately would start pouring on the water...drinking as much as I could
because that seemed to help them pass faster. But let me tell you...the pain
and discomfort from those can be HORRIBLE and there are not always outward
signs like the fever or even blood. And kidney stones are not out of the
question either. I had one of those a couple years ago and let me tell
you...it was memorable and I dealt with it for over a month all total and
finally ended up passing it the day before I was to have it blasted to
oblivion (it was 2mm X 8 mm...I called it stonezilla) :o) Just mentioning it
because it's often missed.
