[tri-med] Does it ever stop...

Thankfully, Hannah is ok. But Donn is packing up to take Caty to
Children's. When we went to pick her up from her mom's last night she
was complaining that she had been throwing up and running a fever. She
told Donn she was up all night last night throwing up so he kept her
home and took her to the doctor this afternoon. The doctor tested for
strep (again...) and flu, but neither came back positive. She said she's
been throwing up but hasn't peed. So they gave her a shot of phenergan
and sent him home with her telling him that if she hadn't peed in a half
hour to take her to Children's so they can hydrate her. On the way home
from the doctor she told her dad she wasn't going to the hospital so
they stopped at the grocery store and got some Gatorade. We had to deal
with some things with Donn's mom so we left for a while telling her to
keep sipping on the Gatorade. We got home and she had only drank about
MAYBE 1/3 of the bottle. But she says she drank 3 glasses of water!!!
Hmmm... do we buy that? Not sure.... why would she get up and go get a
glass of water when she has the bottle of Gatorade sitting right next
to her? Sounds like one of her "I want to tell you want you want to
hear" stories.

We suggested taking her to the hospital then and, again, she said no.
Anyway, here it is almost 10 pm and NOW she decides that since she still
hasn't peed she'll go to the hospital because, according to her, she
won't be able to sleep if she doesn't go.

Don't get us wrong. If she needs medical attention we want to make sure
she gets it. But there have been way too many times that she has cried
wolf about things like this. And if she was still with her mom they
would be calling us to deal with it anyway because mom hasn't taken care
of anything medical in ages.
