Because people will complain, verbally but ESPECIALLY in writing, way more 
than people will write a thank you note or express happiness. The negative 
always gets more air-time. Think about news in general.

Most people I know are happy or thrilled by the stem cell research 
advancements of late but they only talk about it in conversations. Not 
'taking it to the street' so to speak. Not like those who are opposed.

Just my take on it.  :-)
