Is he on antibiotics?
If so 'acidophilus (sp?) is good.  OTC stuff. It's live/active bacteria to
restore a stripped of the 'good bacteria' system.
Same as yogurt with live/active cultures.

Bananas (can they go in the tube pureed?) are a stool firmer.
