[tri-med] Conference Happenings...

Hey all,

Well we arrived here in Chicago on Tuesday evening. Our family spent yesterday
at the aquarium. Today we got registered and had our family picture taken. My
hubby, Pat is off with Darby & McKensie doing the museum scene while Mari & I
just finished the clinics.

As usual, the Chicago chapter is doing an awesome job of making us all feel
welcomed.

So far, we've seen a bunch of the listserv folks. We saw Gina & Taylor with RJ,
Ashleigh, Mom & Dad at the pool last night. I met Loren today for the first
time in real person. Jude, Kammie, Derek & Kelsey Wolpert had their picture
taken after us.

We saw Rachel & Aleah waiting for clinics to begin. I think Devon Victor
grabbed me in the cafeteria, but I was too focused on finding the food to
realize who he was until they were out the door! Philina was working the group
and hustling everyone to take her picture. She walked off with a very polite
woman who wandered into the cafeteria at the hospital today. Fawna realized
she had escaped and rescued the innocent bystanding woman. I paused to say
"Hi" to Gabby and she grabbed me. (I even know better.) Shannon had to get my
name tag released from her firm grip.

I got to meet Quinby Wilson in person and I have dibs on holding her at the
dinner tonight. Faren was happy when we saw her, but Rick & Michelle said she
had not been too happy with her opthamology appt.. Mari & I also got to ride
the clinc bus both ways with TereseAnn & Natalia. We've met several older kids
& their parents for the first time, Kelsey Page (age 11) with mom Rebecca and
Kara Thompson (age 11) with mom, Robin. I quickly met Stacy Carroll and her
daughter Kennedy (age 9).

We waited for the busses back to the hotel with Jamie & Zion Lint---and Gerrie,
Todd, and Lelani Meggett as well.

It's just beyond words to get to see each other when we've shared so much
through this listserve. I wish everyone were here. It's too bad we don't all
live in the same neighborhood! (Of course, people would probably wonder if
something was off with the water.)

That's it for now...

Smiles,

Chris (mama to Mari, full T18, dob 8/24/01)
