Oh man. What a frustrating day you had! Don'tcha hate it when you have to
make a special appointment to hear someone who's spent a gazillion dollars
on their education tell you "Gee, I don't know"?!?!? Drew and I have
perfected a "Thanks for Nothing" look to share after one of those moments.
<< Never ask for advice unless you really want it.
Indeed, even if you do really want it, think twice.
Get advice about whether or not you should get
advice. Bear in mind that all advice givers have
vested interests; points to prove, axes to grind.
You are now listening too carefully to a particular
person's opinion. Of course it is valid but then so
too, is your own take on a situation that is difficult
to read. And frankly, you know far more about it than
any of the so-called experts. It's not so much advice
you need, as just objectivity. When your perspective
is clear, everything else will become obvious. >>
I think I'm going to frame that. If anyone wants to condense it and put it
in calligraphy or needlepoint, I'll cheerfully blow my auction budget on it
at conference. Quite simply the best advice I've ever seen!
Give my favorite Mystery Girl a big hug from us. Man, Phil is simply not
going to have ANYTHING about her taken for granted, is she?
