Hi all. One of Akaiya's IEP goals this year is that she will be able to
greet teachers and peers using a switch. They have been asking me if I know of
any other kids with T18 that use communication devices. I try explaining to
them that all trisomy kids are different so it's really not easy to say "well
johnny can do it, so akaiya should too." But, they seem to feel that now is the
right time for Akaiya to start. The two questions they have are - Do any kids
use augmentative communication? and if so, what type of devices/switches are
they using?
