[tri-med] Re: Claire Update

Thank you all for your kinds thoughts and prayers.
She is finally keeping her food down and quite full of herself... kicking,
squealing and smiling.

They plan to 'name' the bacteria from the first sample today. The second
blood sample is still negative (tho we are still not out of the woods on
waiting for that) so we are hoping nothing shows up and makes the drs
believe the first one was contaminated.

She has been on antibiotics since she got here, so whatever she has is
getting treated. (They listed all the possible things and said this
antibiotic - rocephin is pretty all-inclusive, but only given by shot or
IV.)

She will get her echo today. She was due for one in August anyway, so they
have decided to check her out while she is here. Last year we went throught
this same thing, and while the bacteria didn't show up on the test, the
endocarditis showed up in the echo.

For this reason, I'm requesting another quick prayer that the echo is clean
and the name of the bacteria is one that isn't one to be on a list of
possible bacterias that cause endocarditis. whew. Moms shouldn't have to
know all these words.

Debbie and Claire - eating and waiting.
I'll send her website to anyone who wants to follow her progress... you can
probably find it in the archives too.
