Catherine, this is very interesting.

The specific reason that we were told that Annie could not have "nurse given 
sedatives" was because of an adverse reaction to nitrous oxide. 

When you say respirologist, do you mean pulmonologist? Perhaps these meds work 
in the same manner to depress the CNS and if a child is prone to adverse 
effects from one, then they are prone to the others. 

My son is dating a 4rth year pharmacology student....this might come in handy. 
I also note that the Chief Coroner who is reviewing Annie's case has a degree 
in pharmacology.
