[tri-med] Button Question

Alex has had a Mic-Key for years now and I am really happy with it. The
other weekend (as some of you know) a friends child thought the button was a
toy and pulled it out :-)) I broke the seal on his spare button so put in a
request for another spare. Instead of sending me a Mic-Key they sent me a
Mini.

From what I can see its pretty much the same as a Mic-Key except a smaller
profile. It's a balloon, locks etc. In fact the only major problems that I
can see is that it isn't marked latex free plus I have two dozen feeding
tubes for the Mic-Key and I doubt that they will fit the Mini. I don't pay
for the tubes, but it seems a total waste as I have nothing against the
Mic-Key and I only keep that many tubes so that I can have tubes at school,
home, in my handbag etc because I forget to take them with me (We use the
button so rarely these days - only for meds or when Alex is ill).

Does anyone have info or thoughts on the Mini that they can share? Is it as
OK for syringing meds in as the Mic-Key? What is the anti-reflux valve on
the Mini like? We tend to punish the valve because of thick fluids and
purees (Alex has never had formula - just a pureed diet through the g-tube).
Is it latex free? I know I could resub to the g-tube list and ask but
guessed you experts would know as well.........

"It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history
is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the
lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny
ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of
energy and daring those ripples build a current which can weep down the
mightiest walls of oppression and injustice."
