Well...........Today is the day. My oldest daughter, Brianna will be
checking into Shriners Children's Hospital at 1:00.
Yesterday was a great day for Brianna! Her team won the STATE championships
in Special Olympics Basketball! It was bitter sweet watching my girl play
sports for the last time for a year now.
Brianna will be having a spinal fusion to correct her Scheuermann's Disease.
It has caused kyphosis in her upper back that will become very painful if we
don't do anything.
It was such a hard decision to say, "okay"......go ahead, lets go for the
surgery now." I'm very scared for our girl and pray this is the right time to
do
this surgery.
We have church family/friends/family coming up to the hospital at 4:00 for a
prayer. Brianna will be in surgery at 7:30 tomorrow morning. She will be in
surgery for 10 or so hours. They will take bone from her hip and use it to
fuse the rods to her spine. She is expected to be there for approx 2 weeks.
Here is the hospital address if anyone would like to send a card to our very
special girl. Brianna loves to get mail! This is one of the highlights of
her day at home. Hopefully she'll get lots of mail while in the hospital to
cheer her up a little!

Oh my gosh. I'm really feeling it now. Just hit me...again what my daughter
will endure. Please pray for her. And for the surgeons that will be involved
with this major surgery on my baby girl. (She's always gonna be my
baby.......but Bri is 18!) Thank You.
Love,
Laurie and Alan
Brianna, Brandon, Marissa and Kayla
on a side note......our pastor just called to pray for Bri and said he'll be
there before surgery in the morning to pray. GOD IS GOOD!
