[tri-med] Re: Breast Milk Donations - Barbara Farlow

Hi Ruth,

I dealt with the Ohio Milk Bank and they were wonderful. As soon as they
heard I was a bereaved mother, it didn't matter that I lived in Canada, they
were willing to pay for the blood work and shipping etc at a loss to them.

If you look up MILk BANKs, I am sure you would find one close to your home,
and perhaps their policies are all similar. I decided to continue pumping
forthem-for 6 months in fact! It helped the transition and bereavement
process a great deal.

Take care and God Bless

BARB

Hello Barb,

Catherine suggested I contact you regarding breast milk donations. I
havequite a few preemie bottles of breast milk in my freezer, and I was
wondering if there is anyone I can give it to. It is liquid gold; however,
when I contacted the lactation rep. at the hospital, she said she was
unawareof anyone who would be interested without advanced testing, etc. It
seems a shame to pour it all down the drain. I don't think I can do that
yetanyway. It hurts too much to think about.
