Irene, you did the best you could in the situation you were in at the time.
Nobody can do more than that!

We all get infected with the 'hindsight virus' at times. The 'coulda,
shoulda, wouldas'.
Guess it's just one more in our arsenal of growth/coping as we go along. And
look at how much of OUR past choices can help others either improve theirs
or at least (somewhat) make peace with it.

These days when I get the Guilts over past mistakes I really try to let them
go and be grateful that now I  know different--I am NOT the same person who
welcomed my firstborn into the world....for better or worse! LOL

I used to be a doormat in many areas. Can't say it's true anymore....got
some school personnel who can vouch for that!  {evil grin}

All part of the evolution of life I guess. Or maybe it's the exhaustion.
