I have found that the technicians don't use a pulse oximeter and have always
had to arrange that with them prior to the scanning. They usually have to
arrange to have a nurse arrive with a pulse oximeter and they prepare her
with a little additional oxygen and bump it up when she desats....during
mri's ct scans etc there are not usually nurses or doctors present at all so
you will need to discuss this with the ordering physician or your primary
physcian ahead of time.

Wow, I'm really sorry about that! Do you mind if I ask if her bad reaction
was to the drugs in the anaesthesia (like an allergic reaction) or due to
doctors that weren't used to working on infants or Tri infants? I have also
been wondering how they monitor the kids while they are undergoing the scan
since I can't imagine that the anaesthesiologist can be right there with
them in the machine like they can during surgerical procedures. I'm sure
they have some way to monitor them though.
Thanks!
