[tri-med] Re: Botox for drooling

Hi Kym,

Hannah uses the patch too. They started her on a quarter patch when she =
was
pretty small and now she gets a whole patch every other day. It helps =
but we
still have lots and lots of secreations to deal with. She doesn't =
protect
her airway so anything that will help decrease those secreations will =
help.

How does Delilah do with the patches?

Hi Janet,
Our daughter, Delilah (T13, 17 months) wasn't old enough to get Botox =
when
she was initially evaluated so her pulmonologist recommended using a
Scopalamine patch. Its what people use for motion sickness. She wears it
behind her ear and we change it every 3 days. It's another thing to =
check
and manage, but there wasn't much research or experience here with using
Botox on kids younger than 1 year old. Hope this is helpful. Sorry I =
don't
have any Botox info. Kym Mom to Delilah (T13, 5/23/07) and Ellis =
(7/25/07)
