comes with a bag of different whistles. For most of the kids on the list
it's probably a bit advanced but its excellent for children who have learnt
to blow and are past the blowing out candles and ping pong balls stage.
Controlling your breath is essential in speech development and so the
controlled breath needed to blow whistles is an excellent therapy.
Karen,
I don't know if this is the same whistle kit you are talking about, but I
have the catalog from Talk Tools and they have several different whistle
kits with whistles for specific issues like, lip closure horn kit, lip
protrusion horn kit, etc. including their original horn kit. Morgan is
currently on this program with the original kit, he can blow the 1st
whistle. The lady who started this program is Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson, a
speech pathologist. She founded Innovative Therapists International in
1995. You may have heard of her as she is spokesperson for CHARGE
syndrome.
This might be of interest to some, she has a program called TalkTools
Drooling Remediation Program. The program is touted as addressing
drooling, not from a behavioral standpoint, but from a muscle based
perspective. The kit includes several kinds of straws, whistles, etc. The
website is www.talktoolstm.com
