I remember someone asked about lengthening their childs bones. I=0D
responded with some information about my tooth/gum problem, where the=0D
dentist had peeled back the gum, scraped away cystic tissue, then=0D
some bone, which they mix with this "magic stuff", (don't know what=0D
it's called). It is supposed to grow more of your own bone. Well it=0D
is about 8 weeks since the original procedure. The area has never=0D
really completely healed, and about two weeks ago an abscess=0D
developed, it got bigger, and a week ago I went back to the dentist,=0D
who put me back on anti-biotics, (my original dentist was away).=0D
Yesterday I went back and had to have to whole thing opened up again,=0D
and cleaned out. While he was in there he said that the bone was=0D
trying to grow, but my body was seeing it as a foreign invader (like=0D
your finger would if it got a splinter in it, it becomes inflamed).=0D
So to keep on with the antibiotics. Washing mouth several times a day=0D
(especially after meals) with warm salty water. He has not sutured it=0D
this time, so it can drain. (yuk).=0D
=0D
Anyway the purpose of this email, is to draw attention to the=0D
possibility of rejection with this sort of procedure.=0D
=0D
If it flares up again, I will lose the tooth. It is so frustrating=0D
(not to mention the expense, as we are not covered for more than=0D
basic dental treatment).=0D
=0D
I was supposed to be seeing Tess today, but I've cancelled, as I'm=0D
afraid of passing on "bugs" to her. Not to mention the possibility of=0D
getting a friendly pat in the mouth as she is prone to do sometimes.=0D
